Although there isn’t a large quantity of Lacrosse Movies that have been made, they are a couple good ones though. If you haven’t seen these movies yet, you certainly should plan a movie night. In the meantime, we will campaign for more lacrosse movies to be made.
CROOKED ARROWS (2012)
A story centered on a Native American lacrosse team making its way through a prep school league tournament.
“Crooked Arrows” is one of those movies that even if you know almost nothing about the sport of Lacrosse you get involved in the game so much so that you might just find yourself yelling at the screen and that is part of “The Formula” that works so very well for movies about sports.
This movie has managed to twist Native culture, Traditions, History and even Language all together so expertly that you are not only being entertained but being educated at the same time.
A WARRIORS HEART (2011)
A talented high school lacrosse player deals with the pain from his military dad’s death, a resentful new coach, and consequences of his own arrogance.
I personally love sports movies and I have never seen a movie about Lacrosse. A Warrior’s Heart is about a hotheaded boy Conner who loses his temper when his father dies in war. The movie starts well and ends well but it gets tedious in the middle. Especially all the lectures and scenes in the woods are extremely boring.
The screen write and plot is cliche and predictable, but if you like lacrosse you will be entertained from that point-of-view.
